The dashboard
Your library is the first thing Quodra shows you. Everything you can do to a deck without opening it — file it, tag it, rename it, duplicate it, export it, throw it away — happens here.
The dashboard has three parts: the sidebar down the left, the top bar across the top, and the library in the middle. The sidebar chooses what the middle shows; the top bar searches, switches theme, and starts a new deck.
The sidebar#
The Quodra mark at the very top links out to the marketing site. Below it, under the Workspace group:
- Home — the greeting, the create strip, the resume card, your presentations, the sample gallery, and a strip of layouts. The whole page, in the order you usually want it.
- Template — the templates on their own, under the heading Templates.
- Recent — your decks, newest edit first. The sort menu is hidden in this view, because recency is the view.
- All Presentations — every deck you own, ignoring whichever folder happens to be open.
- Shared with Me — decks other people have given you access to.
- Studio — a collapsible row. Opening it reveals Circuit Studio, Molecule Studio, and Matter Lab. The first two are standalone drawing surfaces with libraries of their own. Matter Lab is different: it is a workspace over the Matter objects in a deck, sharing that deck's undo — so opening it from here takes you into your most recently edited deck and puts the lab over it. If your library is empty, a new deck is created for the lab to land in.
- Trash — decks you have thrown away but not yet destroyed.
Send feedback sits under the navigation when your account is connected to the cloud. It opens a short form: a category, a severity (blocking, normal, minor), a one-line summary, a description, and an optional screenshot of the screen you were on. Screenshots are enabled by default and can include visible slide content. Turn off Attach a screenshot of this screen before sending if you do not want the image included. See Account & privacy for the technical context sent with feedback.
At the foot of the sidebar: Settings, a Support/Help link that opens this documentation in a new tab, and your account pill.
Studio rows and some import options depend on account and deployment settings during the beta. If a feature is unavailable, its entry may be hidden.
Home, Recent, and All Presentations#
All three show the same deck cards; they differ in what they include and how they order.
- Home greets you by first name — Good morning, Good afternoon, or Good evening — and says how many presentations are in your library. Its heading is Your presentations, with a count beside it.
- Recent is always ordered by last edit.
- All Presentations shows everything you own even while a folder is selected, which makes it the quickest way to find a deck you have mis-filed.
If nothing matches, Home says Nothing here matches. while a search or folder is narrowing the view, and otherwise offers No presentations yet — start a blank deck, or open a sample below. with New presentation and Browse templates beside it.
A small Syncing pill appears next to the heading while the cloud reconcile is running. Your device's own copy paints first, so the library is never waiting on the network.
Shared with Me#
Decks other people have added you to, each row showing the title, a can edit or can view chip, and when it was last touched. Opening a row where you can edit takes you into the editor; a view-only row opens the read-only view. Before anyone has shared anything, the view says Nothing shared with you yet — when someone adds you to a deck, it lands here.
Folders#
Folders live in the Folders group in the sidebar. Before you have any, the hint reads "No folder yet - click the + icon to create a new folder".
- New folder — the
+button beside the label. Type a name and press Enter; Escape cancels. - Rename folder and Delete folder — the pencil and bin that appear on a folder row.
- Each row carries a count of the decks filed in it. Click a folder to filter Home to it; click it again to clear.
Deleting a folder never deletes decks. They simply become unfiled, and the toast tells you how many moved.
File a deck from its card menu: Move to folder, then pick a folder — the one it is already in is marked with a tick. Remove from folder appears once a deck is filed, and New folder… creates one without leaving the menu.
Folders are a filing scheme kept by this browser; a deck only remembers which folder it belongs to. Tags, by contrast, live inside the document and travel with it everywhere.
Tags#
Tags are the one vocabulary shared by your decks and the sample gallery.
- Add or edit tags — the deck card's kebab menu, then Tags…. Type them comma-separated. Duplicates fold together case-insensitively, you get up to twelve per deck, and each is trimmed to forty characters.
- Filter — the chip bar above the library. All clears the filter; any other chip narrows to that tag. Clicking a tag chip on a card does the same thing.
- Search matches tags as well as titles.
Because the samples carry their field as a tag, filtering to Chemistry narrows your own decks and the gallery at once.
Search, sort, and layout#
- Search presentations — the field in the top bar, matching titles and tags as you type.
- Sort — the menu on the right of the section heading offers Recently edited, Name (A→Z), and Most slides.
- Layout — Grid view and List view, the two buttons beside the sort menu.
The create strip#
Three cards on Home:
| Card | What it does |
|---|---|
| Blank presentation | Start from an empty deck. Creates Untitled deck and opens it. |
| Import a file | Opens the import dialog — This device or Google Slides, depending on what is enabled. |
| From a template | Jumps to the Templates view. |
Imports always arrive as a new deck rather than overwriting one, and any Python inside an imported deck is held until you trust it. If a file only half-converts, an Import review listing what was skipped shows before the deck opens.
Above the create strip there is also New presentation in the top bar, which does the same thing as Blank presentation.
Continue working#
When your library is not empty, Home puts your most recently edited deck in a Continue working card: a live preview of its first slide, the title, when it was edited and how many slides it has, and two buttons — Continue editing and Present. It steps aside while a search or folder filter is active.
Deck cards#
Every card shows a real preview of the deck's first slide — drawn by the same renderers the editor uses, not a stored screenshot — the title, when it was edited, the slide count, its tag chips, and a small deck or canvas marker for which view it was built in. Click the cover or the title to open it.
The kebab menu on the card carries:
- Open
- Rename… — edit in place; Enter commits, Escape cancels
- Tags… — the comma-separated tag line
- Duplicate — makes "Title (copy)"
- Export JSON — downloads a
.quodra.jsonfile of the deck - Move to folder, with Remove from folder and New folder…
- Move to trash
Sample presentations#
Below your decks, Home shows the sample gallery under Sample presentations, with the note "opening a sample creates your own copy". Each card gives the slide count and the field tag; the kebab offers Open a copy and Export JSON. See Templates & samples for what is in each one.
Templates#
On Home the layouts appear under Start from a layout with a Browse all → button; the Template sidebar item shows the same cards under Templates. Each card previews a real slide from the layout and lists its tag and slide count. Clicking one creates a deck from it and opens it.
Trash#
Move to trash does not destroy anything. The Trash view lists what you have thrown away with the date and slide count, and two actions per row: Restore puts a deck back in your library, Delete forever removes it for good. An empty bin says Trash is empty.
Settings#
The Settings view holds three cards and a fourth if you have a tour to replay:
- Profile & sign-in — who you are signed in as, and whether this is a Cloud account or a Local account.
- Model Context Protocol — the endpoint and session token that let an AI tool author decks into your workspace. See AI assistants (MCP).
- Diagnostics & analytics — Usage analytics is a switch, off unless you turn it on; Error diagnostics is Always on during the beta, with deck content scrubbed before sending.
- Product tour — Start tour replays the guided walk-through of the dashboard.
Your account#
The pill at the bottom of the sidebar shows your initials, your name, and your email — or Email not verified if it still needs confirming. Its menu offers Verify your email when relevant, Change your name, Change email, Change password, and Sign out.
Signed out, the pill offers Sign in and Create an account instead — and until you sign in, decks stay on the device you made them on.
Theme#
The button in the top bar reads Dark or Light and switches between the two. The choice is remembered, and the editor and the studios follow it.
